Speakers
Gary is the Head of Rewards of Mercer’s Career Consulting business in Hong Kong.
Gary has over 16 years of consulting experience, with a primary focus on broad-based compensation. His areas of expertise include total rewards strategy design, job architecture development, job evaluation and grade structure review, pay structure design, compensation and benefits policy review and harmonization, customized market benchmarking studies and variable pay plan design. He also has experience in talent assessment and employee engagement studies. He has partnered with multinational companies, local firms as well as government-related organizations, providing a broad range of rewards advisory services.
Prior to joining Mercer, Gary was a Director of the human capital solutions advisory team with a global consulting firm, working closely with clients in both private and public sectors on rewards consulting projects and market surveys across various industries, including retail and consumer goods, life sciences, property, energy, education and transportation & logistics, etc.
Bernice is the Head of Talent of the Career Consulting business in Mercer Hong Kong. She is an expert in providing strategic, yet practical, advisory on organization transformation, leadership, talent & change management. She supports HR in elevating up the business value chain through enhancing HR organization, process, technology and capabilities.
Bernice has 17 years of consulting and corporate HR experience in talent and organization effectiveness, transformation, process digitalization and change management. She has led sizeable, regional / global projects as technical advisor and project manager, responsible for end-to-end blueprint, solution design, implementation and change management.
In her most recent roles as corporate HR, she has overseen HR Projects, as well as the Talent & Organization Development COE functions, where she has led global implementation of SAP SuccessFactors, various HR organizational and process revamp, as well as merger & acquisition activities.
Freddie leads MPF broking business in Mercer’s Wealth business in Hong Kong.
Freddie has 15+ years of experience and his core areas of expertise are benefits design, MPF providers review, change management consulting and employee communication. Freddie also leads the development of Financial Wellness workshops.
Prior to joining Mercer, Freddie worked at an employee benefit broking firm for over eight years, focusing on the development of its pension business. He was involved in different aspects, from establishing the pension model to conducting HR seminars, developing member communications and providing in-house training on the pension environment, including MPF Market changes.
Freddie also has experiences on Group employee benefits and Life insurance where he supports the growth of the Agency sale force.
Freddie graduated with a bachelor’s degree in social science from La Trobe University in Melbourne, Australia. He has been named a Fellow of the Life Management Institute in the insurance industry.
Jan is an experienced and dedicated professional in the field of business development, currently serving as the Director of Business Development at Mercer Hong Kong. He undertakes crucial responsibilities in client onboarding and consistently strives to deliver exceptional HR experiences for broking, consulting, and various other projects within Mercer.
Throughout his four-year tenure with Mercer, Jan has been dedicated and committed to expanding our businesses and providing exceptional client experiences. Leveraging his comprehensive understanding of health solutions to address a diverse range of benefits needs, he places great emphasis on fostering strong partnerships and effective communication, and ensure smooth delivery and execution. In addition, his extensive knowledge in employee benefits broking, flexible benefits consulting, and workforce health management brings valuable insights to our projects and strengthens our ability to meet the unique needs of our clients.
Prior to joining Mercer, Jan held key positions in reputable organizations, playing an instrumental role in ensuring successful client onboarding.
Passionate about employee communications and wellness, Wilda Lau brings over 15 years of health and life insurance experience to Mercer’s Health and Benefits Consultant practice in Hong Kong. Prior to joining Mercer, Wilda spent five years at Bupa in internal communications and workplace health.
Currently, at Mercer, Wilda specializes in driving wellness conversations with clients and advises on building wellness solutions based on data and diagnostics. She enjoys working closely with the wider Health and Benefits Hong Kong team in identifying solutions that consistently improve the employee experience.
Staying happy and well is a priority for Wilda outside of work. She spends significant time enjoying the outdoors in Hong Kong on hikes and short runs. On weekends, Wilda enjoys cooking up a storm for her husband and two children.
