Global business leaders gathered at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos to address the profound, complex and costly issue of climate’s impact on health, the growing strain on health systems, and the disparities in healthcare access, affordability and outcomes.

They explored how to make the transition to a world where health is relevant and welcoming for all though creative financing, collaborative innovation and public-private partnerships to mobilize the necessary resources for long-term investments aimed at addressing climate-related health risks.

Leaders explored collaborative solutions to address the public and private health equity crisis for a better future, including:

  • Building trust in the health system including payment models
  • How technology and R&D initiatives can effectively tackle high-priority diseases and conditions
  • Exploring technologies to expand employer-based models deeper into supply chains
  • Aligning sustainability with corporate strategy to deliver tangible outcomes

And learned how governments and the life sciences sector could work together to abate as much as half of the deadly consequences of climate change from new research by Oliver Wyman and WEF.
