Padraig (Paddy) Brown is the CIO of Mercer New Zealand.  Prior to his current role, Paddy was Head of Real Estate for Mercer in Australia and New Zealand, managing a $3B+ unlisted real estate portfolio which significantly outperformed MSCI and APRA benchmarks.  Paddy has advised some of the world’s largest institutional investors on Real Asset allocations.

Prior to joining Mercer in September 2011, Paddy gained 14 years of global investment and strategy experience spanning real estate, private equity and infrastructure.  Paddy was global real estate strategist for BlackRock where he advised on global investments utilising equity, debt and synthetic exposure and head of global capital markets research for JLL.

Paddy holds a Master of Science from the London School of Economics, a Bachelor of Management Studies from Waikato University, and he is a holder of the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation.
