Mercer appoints new commercial and sales leaders in its Wealth business

Mercer, a business of Marsh McLennan (NYSE: MMC) and a global leader in helping clients realize their investment objectives, shape the future of work and enhance health and retirement outcomes for their people, today announced the appointment of two leaders in its Wealth business. Both report to Marc Cordover, Mercer’s US Wealth Leader.

  • Anne Marie Schultz has been appointed Mercer’s US Investments Commercial Leader.
  • Sylvia Diez is now Mercer’s US Investments Sales Leader in addition to her role as Central Zone Wealth Practice Leader.

Commenting on the appointments, Mr. Cordover said, “We’re excited to welcome Anne Marie to Mercer and to see Sylvia take on an expanded leadership role. Their experience serving the needs of large asset owners across various segments will be instrumental in growing our platform and helping us deliver exceptional experiences to our clients.”

In this newly created role, Ms. Schultz will be responsible for working alongside Mercer’s specialist investment teams to oversee the delivery of investment tools, advice and solutions to Mercer’s institutional investor clients including Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution plans, endowments and foundations, insurers and healthcare and wealth management organizations.

Ms. Schultz joins Mercer from BlackRock, where she provided industry insight, investment solutions and risk advisory to insurance companies and health systems for over a decade. Prior to BlackRock, she spent nearly a decade with Oliver Wyman, another business of Marsh McLennan, designing and implementing solutions for asset managers, insurers, pension funds and endowments and foundations.

Ms. Diez will lead a team of sales directors and oversee business development with investments clients in her expanded role. She joined Mercer as a partner in 2021, leading a team of consultants in the Central US Zone.

Ms. Diez has more than 20 years of institutional investment and retirement plan experience. Prior to joining Mercer, she was Executive Vice President and Regional Managing Director at PNC, where she led PNC’s Institutional Asset Management groups in the Midwest and West regions. She began her career in financial services at Citi working in various regional management roles.
