Pet insurance – a valued benefit and a good excuse to share pet pics

July 06, 2023
The Fourth of July weekend can be tough on those of us with pets that don’t react well to fireworks. Two out of three of this blog’s pet-owners – can you guess which ones? -- had to skip all the fun and stay inside trying to calm our traumatized friends. Even if it meant hanging out in the laundry room (aka, the room farthest from a window) for a couple of hours.

Prune, Junior, and Fettuccini.

No, our pets didn’t need medical treatment as a result of the holiday. We’re just making the point that pet-lovers really love their pets and worry about their well-being.  That’s what makes pet insurance such a valued benefit.  In 2022, 36% of large employers offered pet insurance as a voluntary benefit, up from 22% five years ago.  Considering the impact it can have for so many employees, we’re kind of surprised that number isn’t higher.  So are Junior, Prune, and Fettuccini.  BTW, Fettuccini is the pet that had a purrfectly fine July 4th, thank you very much!
