Roundup: Employer resources on reproductive rights post Dobbs ruling

The US Supreme Court, in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization (June 24, 2022), overturned Roe v. Wade, finding no federal constitutional right to abortion and allowing states to regulate and ban abortions at all stages of pregnancy. Since the ruling, states have taken different positions and actions on abortion and other reproductive-related topics, such as birth control and in-vitro fertilization (IVF). While the prior Biden administration actively advocated for reproductive rights, President Trump’s administration has taken measures against abortion. For example, he signed an Executive Order to terminate “the use of federal taxpayer dollars to fund or promote elective abortion.” Additionally, President Trump issued a Presidential Memorandum to ensure that no U.S. taxpayer funds are allocated to foreign organizations that perform or actively promote abortion in other countries.
To provide multinational employers with some information about positions on reproductive rights and the varying employee health benefit plan issues involved, this roundup provides links to organizations, government websites, third-party analyses, news articles and viewpoints.
