Embracing AI in the rewards function
February 26, 2024 | 44 | 43:33
The New Shape of Work interview series addresses the challenges and uncertainty in the current business environment with a focus on how to transition to a more agile workforce for the future.
In this episode, we speak with Martin Smit, Head of Global Compensation Solutions at Takeda, about Generative AI in the rewards function, the opportunities for GenAI to improve efficiency and productivity, as well as ideas to help employees become more comfortable with AI tools.
Interesting moments:
-
Making GenAI practical
GenAI is an abstract technology. The moment you start talking about practical examples with people, they say, I didn't think about it that way. I really think the key [to increased adoption] is in providing practical examples and use cases rather than keeping it very abstract. -
Productivity enhancements
Some projects can take months but AI can really accelerate some pieces of your projects. It doesn’t always mean that the project will be much faster because you will want to use some of the saved time to validate and fine tune the output. -
Improved decision-making
I definitely think that the compensation function and other functions within companies will change in the next 5 or 10 years. The easiest decisions will be executed faster and more efficiently, and it will help the decision makers make better informed decisions by structuring the information options in a better way. -
Analytical roles
A lot of analytical and junior roles today could be done by AI in a few years and definitely by 2030. But if people then start worrying that there will not be the analytical roles anymore, I don't think they need to worry. I still think you're going to have these roles, but it will be with different skill sets.
